The Community Based Health Project (CBHP)

The Community Based Health Project (CBHP) is a grassroots development program which places community health workers at the center of health care and health education in villages in rural India. The project uses network of volunteer community health workers to form the backbone of the health system, with community involvement at all levels of decision making and project implementation. The goals of CBHP are to reduce malnutrition, create a supportive program promoting the health and well-being of adolescent girls and to provide basic curative services such as emergencies to the community.
